Safeguarding children through daily practices

Tucked into the heart of Charnwood, Edge Early Learning Charnwood is a place where children are known, valued and inspired to learn each day. We regularly welcome families from Macgregor, Flynn and Latham too. As a trusted early learning provider in Charnwood, our long-standing team takes the time to get to know every child. In fact, feedback from our family survey calls out our caring, attentive and genuinely invested educators who settle children into the centre seamlessly.
Every age group has its own classroom at our centre, with daily routines and learning experiences tailored to children from six weeks through to school age. At the heart of it all is our Teach A Rainbow education program, an Edge-exclusive program aligned to the national EYLF V2.0 curriculum, that blends intentional teaching with the joy of learning through play. Our Charnwood childcare is a hive of activity from week to week, welcoming visitors from Indigenous dancers and artists from Wiradjuri Echoes to allied health professionals including a dentist.
We offer a government-approved and funded 3-year-old Preschool program so our families can access 300 hours of free 3-year-old Preschool. You can choose to enrol your child for year-round care and long daycare sessions (9, 10, or 11 hours each day), or simply choose to enrol in 3-year-old Preschool, because we understand flexibility matters to families.
Our Preschoolers regularly graduate to start their school journey at Charnwood-Dunlop School and Thomas Aquinas Primary School, and we spend time getting each child ready for the everyday routines of their first year and building a love of learning. As a bonus, we’re a 3-minute drive to Charnwood-Dunlop School, so the daily commute slots neatly into family life.
Outdoors, children at our centre enjoy sandpits, obstacle courses, climbing frames, fruit and veggie gardens, and a green wall. The building itself has been set up with families in mind, with on-site parking and parent pram storage on hand to make daily centre life simpler.
Most importantly, we put your child’s wellbeing first. Through thoughtful safeguarding practices, regular training and our adherence to the National Child Safety Principles, we create the kind of environment where children feel safe to be themselves. Our experienced educators build strong, trusting relationships and focus on the everyday skills, independence, communication, resilience, that help children settle into school life and a love of learning. Families appreciate this level of care and it’s reflected in our high family satisfaction scores this year*.
If Charnwood childcare or Preschool is on your list, pop in and say hello. A personal tour with our centre leadership is the best way to get a feel for us.
