Edge Ngunnawal is a family-first early learning and preschool centre in Ngunnawal, where every day is filled with play, discovery and genuine connection. Parents commuting from Amaroo, Casey and Nicholls love how easy drop-off and pick-up can be. Looking for Ngunnawal childcare? You’ve found a service that feels like family.

Every age group has its own room at our centre, with routines and experiences tailored to children from six weeks through to preschool. At the heart of it all is our Teach A Rainbow education program, an Edge-exclusive approach that blends inquiry-based teaching with the joy of learning through play. We’re equipped to deliver holistic learning and development through our art atelier rooms, gardening and sustainability experiences, music, language and dance experiences. We’re also proud to embrace First Nations culture and our native surroundings on Ngunnawal Land. Children connect to Country by exploring native flora, creating Aboriginal art, and learning through Dreamtime stories.

Families often enrol with us knowing their child will go on to attend Ngunnawal Primary School, Gold Creek School, Amaroo School, Holy Spirit Catholic School, Palmerston District Primary School, Margaret Hendry School, Harrison School and Franklin School. Our 3-year-old Preschool program focuses on the independence and social skills they’ll use in the classroom.

Outdoor play is a big part of every day, with sandpits, water misters, mud kitchen, veggie gardens, worm farm, bike track, cubby house and yarning circle. We’ve thought about the details families notice, too, like parent pram storage, on-site breakfast and a popular parent tea and coffee station for those busy mornings on the go. We’re located next to the Ngunnawal Shopping Village and only a 2 minute walk from the nearest bus stop for added ease and accessibility, so families can easily combine centre days with work, school runs and everyday errands.

At the core of our centre is a deep commitment to your child’s safety and wellbeing. Our educators are trained in safeguarding on an ongoing basis and hold firmly to the national child safety principles so that every child feels respected, protected and heard. Families tell us they particularly appreciate the ongoing communication from our team who are known for their care and attentiveness. When school beckons, your child will step into it with a strong sense of self, the natural result of years spent being known, challenged and cheered on by a team that loves what they do.

Partnerships with Families

Meet our Centre Director, Carla

Welcome to Edge Early Learning Ngunnawal. Our children and families have called this building home for seven years now, and I feel so lucky to lead such a warm and connected community.

I chose early childhood because I believe the earliest years of a child’s life are the most powerful. Watching children discover who they are, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning is both a privilege and a purpose that inspires me every day. With a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, I’ve held many roles in the early childhood sector, beginning as a school-based apprentice and going on to room leader and educational leader, before stepping into centre leadership.

The relationships in our centre are what I treasure most. I feel privileged to lead a team of passionate educators and to share in the journeys of every child and family who walks through our doors. Together, we’ve created more than a centre, it’s a place where people feel heard, supported and part of one big community. I’m also incredibly proud that our centre is rated Exceeding under the National Quality Standards, a reflection of the genuine care and high-quality learning our team provides.

I believe every child is a capable, competent and valued individual with the right to be heard and respected. Creating a place where children feel a genuine sense of belonging is at the very heart of how I lead.
