Three New Cairns Centres: Edge Expands In The Far North

Hundreds of young children will soon have access to our quality care and education as we proudly grow to three new centres in the Cairns region by the end of the year.

Following the opening of Edge Early Learning Woree in mid-2024, we’re excited to share we are on track to open a further two centres in Cairns this year.

Nestled in the suburbs of Edmonton and Gordonvale, these two new purpose-built centres will be catering to the diverse needs of families in these thriving communities.

This means we will be expanding our quality care and education to 270 children per day, aged 6-weeks to school age, within the locale when the two new Edge centres open their doors by the end of 2024.

The new Edmonton centre is already in development and set to open mid-year on Walker Road, while Edge’s Gordonvale centre will be located on Draper Road and is due to open later this year.

These two new centres will be located within a 20-minute radius of Edge Woree, which opened in July 2023 and caters for up to 75 children per day, with extended operation hours from 6.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Located on Charlotte Close, Edge Woree is conveniently situated across the road from the Southside Shopping Village and only three minutes from local schools – Saint Mary’s and Woree State School.

The centre features five spacious, modern, age-specific rooms including nursery, toddler, junior kindy, pre-kindy and kindy, with outdoor play areas that are equipped with sandpits, water play areas, swings, a pergola, veggie gardens, and quiet areas to relax.

The centres will feature spacious age specific learning spaces with modern resources, large outdoor environments with fun and relaxing play areas, vegetable gardens, undercover courtyards, easily accessible carparks, kitchens with in-house chefs catering to all dietary requirements, and much more.

Once open, all three Carins centres will provide 65 job opportunities for the local community and we are looking for passionate professionals to join our growing team.
