Luna Capri Foundation Rainbow Day Art Auction
04 May, 2022
Edge Early Learning Milton supports the Luna Capri Foundation with a Rainbow Day Art Auction.
Banding together to support a cause close to their hearts, the team at Edge Early Learning Milton decided to hold a ‘Rainbow Day’ art auction and afternoon tea on Friday 29th of April to raise much-needed funds for the Luna Capri Foundation.
This wonderful foundation was established on the Gold Coast, in honour of an amazing little girl named Luna Capri, who, after being tragically taken from the world at the tender age of three, has inspired countless children and parents to ‘LIVE LIKE LUNA’.
Luna’s wellbeing movement is all about educating children and families on the importance of self-identity and self-awareness.
The Luna Capri Foundation aims to empower the next generation of families to ‘rise up’ through the development of cutting-edge education and frameworks for grief, loss or trauma, apparel, an affirmation range, and community initiatives.
For the art auction and Rainbow Day event, 45 pieces of artwork were created by the children at the centre and families were invited along on the day to bid in a silent auction, with all proceeds donated to the Luna Capri Foundation.
In addition to the artwork, Centre Director, Ashlie, reached out to community partners to put together a hamper to be auctioned on the day. The following items were donated:
- 2 x 1 hour massages from Remedial Massage Therapist at Massage by Michelle
- 1x Gift certificate for a term of classes at Premier Dance Academy, Milton
- 2x Wellness baskets (oils, candles & body scrubs)
- 1x Voucher from Tognini’s Café Deli
- 1x Voucher Bardon Bowls Club
- 1x Voucher from Go Fabric
Following the event, just over $500 was raised and donated to the Luna Capri Foundation.
In their daily teachings, Educators at Edge Early Learning Milton understand the importance of self-identity and awareness, teaching the next generation to be confident in who they are.
When children are confident and secure about who they are, they are more inclined to have a growth mindset by motivating themselves to take on new challenges and learn to cope with mistakes. They are also more likely to stand up for themselves and ask for help when they need it.
When children have positive self-esteem, they:
- Feel respected
- Are resilient and feel proud even when they make a mistake
- Have a sense of control over activities and events in their life
- Act independently
- Take responsibility for their actions
- Are comfortable and secure in forming relationships
- Have the courage to make good decisions, even in the face of peer pressure
With ‘community’ at our core, Edge Early Learning is committed to doing our bit to give back to the people in our local areas and stay true to our values.
Our organisation is built on the ethos that our passionate Educators work with families and the people in our local community to provide safe and inspiring environments tailored to children in our care.
