Leg Squats for A Cause: Strathpine Raises Funds For the National Breast Cancer Foundation
17 August, 2021
Last month, the team at Edge Early Learning Strathpine set out on a mission to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. How? 55 Squats Per Day.
Yes, you heard that right! Squats!
The passionate educators at Strathpine wanted to do something virtuous but also fun and active to show the children the importance of being healthy as well as the benefits of being kind and giving back to the local community.
It’s a cause that’s close to everyone’s heart here at Edge Early Learning, especially those at Strathpine.
“We’re raising funds for this amazing foundation as we have all known someone who has had breast cancer,” said Kate Zada, Centre Director at Strathpine.
“While it may sound easy, if any of the team members forgot to ‘squat’, they had to do double the amount the next day – that’s 110 squats in a row!” added Kate.
All of the programs here at Edge promote physical activity, health and wellbeing, and our Edge Educators take pride in leading by example.
Giving back to the local community is also an area in which our educators lead by example, showing the children how important it is to care for not only ourselves but those around us.
The team at Strathpine, as well as the wider Edge Early Learning family, are devoted to working hard to create a safe and inspiring environment tailored to the children in our care.
Edge Early Learning values the relationships we have with our community partners and believes that incorporating these relationships into our children’s learning will provide a better future for everyone.
We are so excited to share that the team exceeded their goal of $500 and raised $635 in April through encouraging their community connections to support them via their fundraising page: https://fundraise.nbcf.org.au/fundraisers/edgeearlylearningstrathpine
