We regularly welcome families from Maryborough, Granville, and Tinana South. If you’re searching for trusted Tinana childcare, you’ll feel right at home here. You don’t need to take our word for it though. We’re proud to point families to our 50+ five-star Google reviews, where parents consistently highlight our strong communication and personalised support.

Every age group at Edge Tinana has its own classroom, with routines and experiences tailored to children from six weeks through to Kindy. Our educators bring our Edge-exclusive Teach A Rainbow education program, to life every day, building each child’s learning journey around what sparks their curiosity. We’re proud to offer the government-approved free Kindergarten program, led by our degree-qualified Early Childhood Teacher, giving your child a strong early education foundation. We’re also excited to begin our journey with the Indigenous Butchulla language and weaving the three Butchulla Lores into our program. There’s something for every child at our centre, from cooking lessons with our Chef, to excursions to local schools, gardening and sustainabilty learning experiences where children learn through nurturing our own vegetable garden.

Many of our Kindy children go on to attend Tinana State School and Riverside Christian College, and our team works hard to help every child feel ready for that transition, including some popular excursions to local schools for children in kindy.

Most importantly, we put your child’s wellbeing first. Through thoughtful safeguarding practices, regular training and our adherence to the national child safety principles, we create the kind of environment where children feel safe. By the time your child starts school, we’ll have spent years helping them build the self-belief and everyday skills that make those first days feel more familiar.

If you’re looking for a childcare or Kindy known for being caring, supportive and nurturing, book a tour, we love showing families around and meeting the children who might soon join us.

Highly recommend Edge Early Learning in Tinana! From initial enquiry, to tour and enrolment has been an easy process.

Meet our Centre Director, Toni

Hi, I’m Toni. With 18 years of experience in early learning and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, I’m passionate about supporting children through their learning journey and helping shape who they will become. I believe in fostering a positive, inclusive environment where children, families, and educators feel supported, respected, and genuinely connected.

At Edge Tinana, we’re proud of the connections we’ve built with our local community including Riverside School. You’ll find us at the Fraser Coast Show each year, where our children lovingly create displays that are showcased alongside other local schools. We welcome Dental2You and Optical2You into our centre, making health checks familiar and comfortable for children.

We warmly welcome families from Tinana and the surrounding Fraser Coast community to book a tour. We look forward to meeting your family and showing you the Edge difference!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I enrol my child in childcare?

A: To enrol in childcare and kindergarten at Edge Early Learning Tinana, the first step is to booking a tour. We love to meet families that may be joining us soon and it gives you an opportunity to meet our educators, explore our nurturing environment, and understand how we can provide an experience that is best suited to your child. After your tour, you’ll receive an enrolment form to secure a spot or join the waitlist.

Q: Does Edge Tinana have availability or a waitlist?

A: At our Tinana daycare and kindergarten, we accept enrolments for start dates in the coming weeks, right out to 12 months into the future, depending on our availability at the time of your enquiry. Our Family Engagement Team can provide you with our current availability in each classroom, and help you join our waitlist if we don’t have a position for your child when you need it. Call us on 07 3517 0629 between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Q: What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

A: The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a federal government subsidy designed to help Australian families with the cost of approved childcare. The amount you receive depends on your family’s income, the type of care, and your recognised activity hours. Learn about CCS.

Q: How do I apply for the Childcare Subsidy (CCS)?

A: To apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), you’ll need to create a MyGov account, link your Centrelink account, and submit your application with supporting documents such as your child’s birth certificate. Applying for the CCS is easy, but it’s a good idea to apply early so you’re ready for your child’s first day at Edge Tinana. Follow these steps to apply for the CCS:

  • Create a MyGov account (if you don’t have one) and get a Customer Reference Number (CRN)
  • Set up your Centrelink online account through MyGov
  • Prove who you are by showing documents, either online or in person at Centrelink, to be able to claim payments
  • Get your documents ready, like payslips, your child’s birth certificate, and any medical records
  • Submit your documents through your Centrelink online account or the Express Plus Centrelink app. You can also mail, fax, or go to a Centrelink service centre
  • Submit your CCS application via MyGov after uploading the required documents

Once this is lodged, Edge Early Learning will input your enrolment details and lodge your application for you to get it fully processed. The Government will then notify you to confirm your subsidy eligibility and entitlement (how much they will subsidise off your childcare cost). For more information on the application process, including how to do the childcare subsidy assessment, visit Services Australia website.

Q: How can I estimate my childcare fees?

A: You can use our easy Childcare Subsidy Calculator to get an estimate of your out-of-pocket fees for our centre. Simply input your details, and the calculator will provide an indication of your potential subsidy and fees.

Q: Does Edge Tinana offer Free Kindy?

A: Yes! Edge Early Learning Tinana offers a government‑approved Kindergarten program delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and experienced educators to give children a confident start to school.

Eligible families can access Free Kindy funding (15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year)* at our centre to reduce out‑of‑pocket costs. Our centre team or Family Engagement Team, can help explain how Free Kindy funding from the QLD government can be applied on top of your existing Childcare Subsidy, to further reduce your out-of-pocket costs. Find out more about Free Kindy.

At Edge Early Learning, our Kindergarten program runs year-round with extended hours to meet your family’s needs. Each child’s learning goals are personalised and tracked across the 11 Key Learning Areas to build school‑ready skills such as early literacy, numeracy, independence, self-help skills, emotional regulation, and social skills.

* Free Kindy subsidy totals 600 hours of subsidised Kindergarten per year.

Q: What’s the difference between Kindy at Edge Tinana and community Kindergarten?

A: Four things set Edge Tinana apart from a stand-alone or community Kindergarten: our exclusive Teach A Rainbow program, care that runs all year round, chef-prepared meals, and the option to combine Free Kindy with full daycare under one roof.

Community Kindergarten typically follows school term dates, but Tinana Childcare and Kindergarten stays open right through the year, aside from public holidays, with long daycare hours. That means no scrambling for holiday care or juggling pickups outside our 8am to 3:30pm Kindy window.

If the government Free Kindy program is what your family’s after, we also run a 7.5 hour session over 2 days a week, with families able to choose which 2 days suit them best.

However you choose to structure your child’s week, the program meets both the Early Years Learning Framework v2.0 and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, so the quality of education matches any community Kindergarten.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: At Edge Early Learning Tinana, we aim to make life as easy as possible for you, so we supply most of the necessities including sustainable nappies, wipes, sunscreen, bedding, and nutritious meals (breakfast through to a late snack) to ensure your child is well-cared for throughout the day. However, there are a few items that you will need to bring to ensure your child has everything they need:

  • Hat and drink bottle (supplied on enrolment)
  • Spare clothes (3 sets)
  • Any comfort items (dummies)
  • Nappy cream (requires pharmacy label)
  • Formula (pre-measured in dispenser) & baby bottles (pre-filled with water) / Breastmilk (clearly labelled)

Q: Where is Edge Tinana located?

A: Edge Early Learning Tinana is conveniently located just off Gympie Road down Woongool Road and opposite Shultz Park. We offer on-site parking for added ease and accessibility.

Q: Do you provide food?

A: Yes! Your child will enjoy fresh, nutritious meals prepared daily by our on-site chef, using recipes developed in collaboration with accredited dietitians at The Biting Truth. Designed with growing bodies in mind, our seasonal 4-week rotating menus are age-appropriate and nutritionally balanced, aligning with the Australian Dietary Guidelines to support healthy growth and development. Featuring a variety of whole foods and culturally inspired dishes, meals can be tailored to suit individual tastes, dietary needs, and allergy requirements to ensure every child receives nourishing meals each day.

Q: How do you partner with local schools?

A: At Edge Tinana, we partner with local schools like Riverside Christian College by attending their school events such as school musicals and the community Under 8s Day. We’re lucky to have Riverside Christian College organise bus transport for our kindy children to attend these events. Local schools also take part in our kindy information sessions, and we maintain a connection with Tinana State School through our Early Childhood Teacher.

Q: Does Edge Early Learning offer a holiday discount?

A: Yes, we do! Our Tinana childcare and kindergarten offers an annual holiday discount with 30% off* the daily fee for up to 4 weeks each year.

Terms and Conditions apply: The Edge Early Learning holiday discount entitles enrolled families to up to 4 weeks of holiday discount per year when the family provides a minimum two weeks’ notice in advance of the holiday. One week of holiday equates to the number of days in your child’s permanent weekly booking. Once your holiday discount is approved by your Centre Director, the Edge Centre Support Team will apply a 30% discount to the daily fee during the holiday period. Up to four weeks total holiday discount per enrolment per year.

Q: How do you communicate and partner with families?

A: At Edge Early Learning Tinana, we believe open and collaborative communication is essential to every child’s learning journey.
