Walk into Edge Strathpine – Bells Pocket Rd and you’ll find a bright, happy Strathpine childcare centre built around children’s wellbeing and curiosity. Children aged six weeks to school age spend their days at our Strathpine early learning centre learning through play and building friendships. We regularly welcome families from Bray Park, Warner, Lawnton and Brendale too.

Our Teach A Rainbow education program, exclusive to Edge, shapes each experience around your child’s interests and developmental goals. Parents tell us they love the sensory-stimulating activities, the focus on developmental milestones and the useful prompts to continue the learning at home. We also bring the world to the children through in-centre experiences including Healthy Harold’s Little Learners program, Henny Penny Chicken Hatching, Mini Medics, emergency services visits, Queensland Surf Life Saving, and a Queensland Rail safety talk.

We deliver a government-approved kindergarten program led by a degree-qualified early childhood teacher, so your child builds the skills, confidence and curiosity they’ll lean on in their first year of school. Children from our centre commonly transition to Strathpine State School and Lawnton State School, who we partner with to ensure your child steps into prep feeling comfortable and familiar with what’s ahead.

Families tell us our educators genuinely care and take the time to get to know each child and family. Most importantly, we put your child’s wellbeing first. Through thoughtful safeguarding practices, regular upskilling and our adherence to the national child safety principles, we create the kind of environment where children feel secure and able to be themselves. When school beckons, your child will step into it with a strong sense of self, the natural result of years spent being known, challenged and cheered on by a team that loves what they do.

Our centre is located on Bells Pocket Road, just a 3 minute walk to Strathpine Plaza Shopping Centre. Everyday comforts for parents include a breastfeeding-friendly parents’ room and on-site parking. We also have a nearby centre at Edge Early Learning – Railway Ave.

If our Strathpine childcare centre is on your list, pop in and say hello. A quick tour is the best way to get a feel for us.

The Centre Manager knows us all by name and always greets us with a smile each day.

Kindergarten Program

Edge Strathpine Bells Pocket Road offers a year-long Kindergarten Program that sets your child up for a successful start to school. Our university-qualified teacher delivers programming that encourages children to manage their emotions, develop their focus and routine learning behaviours so they’re ready to thrive at school.

Key learning milestones you can expect:

  • Social & Emotional: Learning to navigate emotions, share, take turns, and build positive relationships.
  • Language & Literacy: Speaking in sentences (telling stories, asking and answering simple questions), and following simple rules and instructions.
  • Independence & Self-help: Dressing and toileting with minimal help, self-serving with tongs, and feeding themselves with fewer spills.
  • Cognitive & Problem-solving: Understanding size, opposites (big/little), positional words (middle/end), and matching colours and objects.

We’re also government-approved, which means your child can access Free Kindy funding, providing 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year of free Kindy. This subsidy is in addition to any Childcare Subsidy (CCS) your family is eligible for, to further reduce your daily out of pocket cost for Kindergarten.

*The Queensland Government’s Free Kindy subsidy totals 600 hours of subsidised Kindergarten per year. Learn more about the Queensland Free Kindy program.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I enrol my child in childcare?

A: The first step is to tour your preferred Edge Early Learning and Kindergarten centre by booking a tour. This gives you an opportunity to meet our educators, explore our nurturing environment, and understand how we can provide an experience that is best suited to your child. After your tour, you’ll receive an enrolment form to secure a spot or join the waitlist.

Q: Does Edge Strathpine have availability or a waitlist?

A: At Edge Strathpine, we take enrolments for start dates in the coming weeks, right out to 12 months into the future, depending on our availability at the time of your enquiry. Our Family Engagement Team can provide you with our current availability in each classroom, and help you join our waitlist if we don’t have a position for your child when you need it. Call us on 07 3517 0629 between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Q: What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

A: The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a federal government subsidy designed to help Australian families with the cost of approved childcare. The amount you receive depends on your family’s income, the type of care, and your recognised activity hours. You will need to apply for the Child Care Subsidy through MyGov before your child starts at our childcare in Strathpine so that it can help reduce the cost of your childcare from day one. Each eligible family’s CCS is paid directly to Edge Early Learning, and we are then able to invoice families for any ‘gap’ fee payable for each day of care. Learn about CCS.

Q: How do I apply for the Childcare Subsidy (CCS)?

A: To apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you’ll need to create a MyGov account, link your Centrelink account, and submit your application with supporting documents such as your child’s birth certificate. Applying for CCS is easy and it’s a good idea to apply early so you’re ready for your child’s first day at Edge Strathpine – Bells Pocket Rd. Follow these steps to apply for the CCS:

  • Create a MyGov account (if you don’t have one) and get a Customer Reference Number (CRN)
  • Set up your Centrelink online account through MyGov
  • Prove who you are by showing documents, either online or in person at Centrelink, to be able to claim payments
  • Get your documents ready, like payslips, your child’s birth certificate, and any medical records
  • Submit your documents through your Centrelink online account or the Express Plus Centrelink app. You can also mail, fax, or go to a Centrelink service centre
  • Submit your CCS application via MyGov after uploading the required documents
  • Once your application is lodged, Edge Early Learning will update your enrolment details and submit your application to ensure it’s processed
  • The Government will then notify you of your subsidy eligibility and provide information about the amount of subsidy you are entitled to

For more information on how to apply and check your subsidy, visit Services Australia website.

Q: How can I estimate my childcare fees?

A: You can use our easy Childcare Subsidy Calculator to get an estimate of your out-of-pocket fees for our centre. Simply input your details, and the calculator will provide an indication of your potential subsidy and fees.

Q: Do you offer Free Kindy?

Eligible families can access Free Kindy funding (15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year)* at our centre to reduce out‑of‑pocket costs. Our centre team or Family Engagement Team, can help explain how Free Kindy funding from the QLD government can be applied on top of your existing Childcare Subsidy, to further reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
