Welcome to Edge Early Learning and preschool Port Adelaide, a caring, community-minded childcare and preschool centre located within Port Adelaide Plaza, perfect for busy families needing the plaza retail stores at pick up. Families travelling in from Semaphore, Largs Bay and Rosewater find us a friendly, practical option on the daily commute. As a trusted provider of Port Adelaide childcare, we take the time to get to know every child. You don’t need to take our word for it though, our families speak for us! We’re proud to have achieved over 50 five star Google reviews and a 100% satisfaction score in our 2026 family surveys*. Our families tell us they appreciate the attentiveness and genuine care our educators show each day.
Babies through to preschoolers all have a classroom to call their own here. Our educators bring our Teach A Rainbow education program, an Edge-exclusive approach, to centre life every day, building each child’s learning journey around what sparks their curiosity, and welcoming family feedback and input throughout.
Many of our preschoolers go on to attend Westport Primary School, Le Fevre Peninsula Primary, St Joseph’s School Ottoway, Largs Bay School, Alberton Primary School, Mount Carmel College, and Pennington School, and our team works hard to help every child feel ready for that transition with regular interactions with local school representatives throughout the preschool year.
Outdoor play is a big part of every day at Edge Port Adelaide, with our popular bike track, sandpits, an in-ground trampoline, water-play and a climbing fort, cubby house, mud kitchen, slide, swing, veggie garden, a sheltered outdoor dining space, and dedicated areas for sustainability learning, loose-parts play and construction right on the classroom doorstep. We’ve thought about the details families notice, too, things like a breastfeeding-friendly parents’ room, dining room, outdoor dining area and parent pram storage. And if you’re looking at ways to ease your busy family schedule, your child also has the option to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities including Happy Feet dance classes, yoga, language classes, cooking and even sign language.
Most importantly, we put your child’s wellbeing first. Through thoughtful safeguarding practices, regular upskilling and our adherence to the national child safety principles, we create the kind of environment where children feel secure and able to be themselves. When school beckons, your child will step into it with a strong sense of self, the natural result of years spent being known, challenged and cheered on by a team that loves what they do.

Key benefits
Hi, I’m Puja. I have 5.5 years of experience and a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Having spent my entire career at Edge Port Adelaide, growing from a casual educator through to Director, I’ve built deep roots in this community and the relationships that come with it. I believe the first few years of life are critical for shaping how children learn, communicate, and see themselves. My focus is on social and emotional development, creating an environment where children feel safe, heard, and free to explore. I’m committed to empowering children to learn and grow according to their unique abilities and interests, weaving culture, community, and a respect for the natural world into everything we do. For me, the greatest reward is seeing the trust, smiles, and confidence of families as they walk through our doors each day. That commitment to our community was recently recognised with the 2025 Greater Adelaide Local Business Award for Outstanding Early Childhood Centre. Book a tour to come and meet our team!
