We welcome children from 6 weeks to school age into our childcare and kindergarten programs. In our purpose-built indoor and outdoor learning environments, qualified teachers and educators deliver Edge’s bespoke Teach A Rainbow program, personalised to your child’s interests and individual learning goals. Children learn through play with engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that are aligned to the national curriculum. Our classrooms also benefit from art atelier rooms where children participate in the creative arts, while strengthening their imagination, emotional intelligence and problem-solving.

We offer year-round care with long day care hours to suit busy family schedules, and our Kindergarten program is government-approved for your peace of mind.

Our caring team is highly experienced in early learning and builds strong, trusting relationships with children and families to support a confident start to school. Children from our centre will often go on to attend Marsden State School, Burrowes State School and Groves Christian College.

Hands down the BEST daycare you'll find. Loving staff treat your babies as their own, not just "another kid".

Kindergarten Program

Edge Marsden offers a year-long Kindergarten Program that sets your child up for a successful start to school. Our university-qualified teacher delivers programming that encourages children to manage their emotions, develop their focus and routine learning behaviours so they’re ready to thrive at school.

Key learning milestones you can expect:

  • Social & Emotional: Learning to navigate emotions, share, take turns, and build positive relationships.
  • Language & Literacy: Speaking in sentences (telling stories, asking and answering simple questions), and following simple rules and instructions.
  • Independence & Self-help: Dressing and toileting with minimal help, self-serving with tongs, and feeding themselves with fewer spills.
  • Cognitive & Problem-solving: Understanding size, opposites (big/little), positional words (middle/end), and matching colours and objects.

We’re also government-approved, which means your child can access Free Kindy funding, providing 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year of free Kindy. This subsidy is in addition to any Childcare Subsidy (CCS) your family is eligible for, to further reduce your daily out of pocket cost for Kindergarten.

*The Queensland Government’s Free Kindy subsidy totals 600 hours of subsidised Kindergarten per year. Learn more about the Queensland Free Kindy program.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I enrol my child?

A: The first step is to tour your preferred Edge Early Learning and Kindergarten centre by booking a tour. This gives you an opportunity to meet our educators, explore our nurturing environment, and understand how we can provide an experience that is best suited to your child. After your tour, you’ll receive an enrolment form to secure a spot or join the waitlist.

Q: Are there places available at the centre or is there a waitlist?

A: Edge Marsden takes enrolments for upcoming start dates. If you would like your child to begin soon or later in the year, we can guide you through the process. Our Family Engagement Team can tell you which rooms have spots open right now. If a place is not available when you need it, we can add your child’s name to our waitlist.

Please call us on 07 3517 0629, Monday to Friday, between 8am and 4pm, and we’ll be glad to help.

Q: What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

A: The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a federal government subsidy designed to help Australian families with the cost of approved childcare. The amount you receive depends on your family’s income, the type of care, and your recognised activity hours. Learn about CCS.

Q: How do I apply for the Childcare Subsidy (CCS)?

Applying for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is easy, but it’s a good idea to apply early so you’re ready for your child’s first day at Edge Marsden. Follow these steps to apply for the CCS:

  • Create a MyGov account (if you don’t have one) and get a Customer Reference Number (CRN)
  • Set up your Centrelink online account through MyGov
  • Prove who you are by showing documents, either online or in person at Centrelink, to be able to claim payments
  • Get your documents ready, like payslips, your child’s birth certificate, and any medical records
  • Submit your documents through your Centrelink online account or the Express Plus Centrelink app. You can also mail, fax, or go to a Centrelink service centre
  • Submit your CCS application via MyGov after uploading the required documents

Once this is lodged, Edge Early Learning will input your enrolment details and lodge your application for you to get it fully processed. The Government will then notify you to confirm your subsidy eligibility and entitlement (how much they will subsidise off your childcare cost). For more information on the application process, including how to do the childcare subsidy assessment, visit Services Australia website.

Q: How can I estimate my childcare fees?

A: You can use our easy Childcare Subsidy Calculator to get an estimate of your out-of-pocket fees for our centre. Simply input your details, and the calculator will provide an indication of your potential subsidy and fees.

Q: Do you offer Free Kindy?

A: Our government‑approved Kindergarten program is delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher and experienced educators to give children a confident start to school.

Eligible families can access Free Kindy funding (15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year)* at our centre to reduce out‑of‑pocket costs. Our centre team or Family Engagement Team, can help explain how Free Kindy funding from the QLD government can be applied on top of your existing Childcare Subsidy, to further reduce your out-of-pocket costs. Find out more about Free Kindy.

At Edge Early Learning Marsden, our Kindergarten program runs year-round with extended hours to meet your family’s needs. Each child’s learning goals are personalised and tracked across the 11 Key Learning Areas to build school‑ready skills such as early literacy, numeracy, independence, self-help skills, emotional regulation, and social skills.

* Free Kindy subsidy totals 600 hours of subsidised Kindergarten per year.

Q: What’s the difference between Kindy at Edge Marsden and community Kindergarten?

A: There is no difference in the quality of the Kindy education program offered at Edge Marsden versus a community or stand-alone Kindergarten. Our program meets both the Early Years Learning Framework (national curriculum) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline.

What sets us apart is our Teach A Rainbow education program. This program is exclusive to Edge Early Learning and is taught by a degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Another difference is flexibility for families. Our Childcare and Kindergarten are open all year (except public holidays), with long daycare session hours (how long we can care for your child each day) for families who need longer care each day. This means you don’t need to find alternative care for your child during the school holidays or outside of the 8:30am–4pm Kindergarten program each day.

Only want to attend our centre for ‘Free Kindy’ across two days each week? That’s fine too! We offer a flexible 7.5 hour session for families who only want their child to participate in Free Kindy for the 7.5 hour days, two days each week.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: At Edge Early Learning Marsden, we aim to make life as easy as possible for you, so we supply most of the necessities including sustainable nappies, wipes, sunscreen, and nutritious meals (breakfast through to a late snack) to ensure your child is well-cared for throughout the day. However, there are a few items that you will need to bring to ensure your child has everything they need:

  • Hat and drink bottle (supplied on enrolment)
  • Spare clothes (3 sets)
  • Bedding sheets for sleep time
  • Any comfort items (dummies)
  • Nappy cream (requires pharmacy label)
  • Formula (pre-measured in dispenser) & baby bottles (pre-filled with water) / Breastmilk (clearly labelled)

Q: Where is the centre located?

A: We’re conveniently located First Avenue, just off Browns Plains Road, and only a 2 minute drive to Marsden State School. Plus, we offer on-site parking for added ease and accessibility.

Q: Do you provide food?

A: Yes! Your child will enjoy fresh, nutritious meals prepared daily by our on-site chef, using recipes developed in collaboration with accredited dietitians at The Biting Truth. Designed with growing bodies in mind, our seasonal 4-week rotating menus are designed to be age-appropriate and nutritionally balanced, aligning with the Australian Dietary Guidelines to support healthy growth and development. Featuring a variety of whole foods and culturally inspired dishes, meals can be tailored to suit individual tastes, dietary needs, and allergy requirements—ensuring every child receives nourishing meals each day.

Q: How do you communicate and partner with families?

A: At Edge Early Learning Marsden, strong partnerships with families are at the heart of our childcare and kindergarten. We value open, two-way communication and invite families to connect with our Centre Leadership Team and educators at a time that works for them, ensuring you stay informed and involved in your child’s learning and development. Families at Edge receive regular and meaningful updates via the Storypark app, centre newsletters, and face-to-face conversations about your child’s development. As an Edge family, you can expect to receive:

  • Weekly updates: Highlights of your child’s learning, program experiences, and classroom news delivered across the week.
  • Monthly updates: Individual learning snapshots on your child’s goals, progress, and special moments.
  • Twice yearly / Annual updates: A comprehensive summative assessment outlining your child’s development, a transition statement for kindy children heading to school, and a structured room transition process which includes family discussions to ensure every room transition feels supported and well planned.

We are proud to work alongside families, creating a supportive and connected learning experience that helps every child thrive. For more information, see the regular updates you can expect.

Q: How do you look after children's safety and wellbeing?

A: At our Marsden early learning centre, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We provide a secure, nurturing long daycare environment where children can explore, learn, and grow with confidence. Our team is committed to protecting children through consistent daily practices, evidence-based programs, and strict adherence to national child safety standards and Edge child safeguarding policy and procedure.

We work closely with child safety organisations such as Life Ed and Bravehearts to strengthen personal safety education within our program. Our Kindergarten children participate in Life Ed’s Harold’s Little Learners program, building confidence, resilience, healthy habits, and personal safety skills—including understanding body boundaries, emotions, and social awareness.

At Edge, your child’s safety and wellbeing is more than just a policy, it’s part of everything we do. Our S.A.F.E. framework (Spot, Act, Fix, Explain) empowers educators to speak up if they see or suspect something isn’t right, fostering a culture of accountability and vigilance. Our Active Supervision policy supports staff to plan, position, look, and listen to ensure all children are continuously supported and monitored in a safe learning environment. In addition, all supervisory and senior staff complete ongoing Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting training to stay up to date on best practices.
