In Plympton, Edge Early Learning and Preschool is a welcoming space. Children settle quickly, families feel supported, and our educators do their best to make every day a good one. We’re equally well placed for families based in Glandore, Kurralta Park and Netley. As a trusted provider of childcare in Plympton, we take the time to get to know every child. Families tell us they value how we communicate openly, make children in our care feel heard and supported. In fact, we’re pleased to promote our 100% satisfaction scores from enrolled families.*

Children aged six weeks to school age spend their days with us learning through play, building friendships and developing their independence. They do this in our expansive outdoor learning environments featuring a veggie garden, climbing fort, sandpits, mud kitchen, slide, bike tracks, water pumps with dry creek beds and water misters for those hot summer days. Our Teach A Rainbow education program, exclusive to Edge, shapes each learning experience around your child’s interests and developmental goals, and we welcome parent input and feedback throughout.

Our graduates move on to schools including Plympton Primary School, St John the Baptist Catholic School, Black Forest Primary School, Forbes Primary School, Emmaus Christian College, and we focus on the friendships, confidence and independence skills that make that first year of prep feel more familiar. We’re a 2 minute drive from Plympton Primary School, which is a welcome bonus for busy families balancing school runs.

Our centre also offers an art atelier and break out space and a community library, pantry and wardrobe, because we know the little details help families and children feel at home.

At the core of our centre is a deep commitment to your child’s safety and wellbeing. Our educators are trained in child safeguarding on an ongoing basis and hold firmly to the national child safety principles so that every child feels respected, protected and heard. By the time your child heads off to school, we’ll have spent years helping them build the friendships and self-belief ready for a lifelong learning journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I enrol my child in childcare?

A: The first step is to tour your preferred Edge Early Learning and Preschool centre by booking a tour. This gives you an opportunity to meet our educators, explore our nurturing environment, and understand how we can provide an experience that is best suited to your child. After your tour, you’ll receive an enrolment form to secure a spot or join the waitlist.

Q: Is there availability at Edge Plympton or a waitlist?

A: Edge Plympton takes enrolments for start dates in the coming weeks, right out to 12 months into the future, depending on our availability at the time of your enquiry. Our Family Engagement Team can let you know what places are available in each classroom. If there isn’t a spot available when you need it, we can add your child to our waitlist.

Give us a call on 07 3517 0629, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm AEST. We’re happy to chat and answer your questions.

Q: What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

A: The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a federal government subsidy designed to help Australian families with the cost of approved childcare. The amount you receive depends on your family’s income, the type of care, and your recognised activity hours. Learn about CCS.

Q: How do I apply for the Childcare Subsidy (CCS)?

A: To apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you’ll need to create a MyGov account, link your Centrelink account, and submit your application with supporting documents such as your child’s birth certificate. Applying for CCS is easy and it’s a good idea to apply early so you’re ready for your child’s first day at Edge Plympton. Follow these steps to apply for the CCS:

  • Create a MyGov account (if you don’t have one) and get a Customer Reference Number (CRN)
  • Set up your Centrelink online account through MyGov
  • Prove who you are by showing documents, either online or in person at Centrelink, to be able to claim payments
  • Get your documents ready, like payslips, your child’s birth certificate, and any medical records
  • Submit your documents through your Centrelink online account or the Express Plus Centrelink app. You can also mail, fax, or go to a Centrelink service centre
  • Submit your CCS application via MyGov after uploading the required documents

Once this is lodged, Edge Early Learning will input your enrolment details and lodge your application for you to get it fully processed. The Government will then notify you to confirm your subsidy eligibility and entitlement (how much they will subsidise off your childcare cost). For more information on the application process, including how to do the childcare subsidy assessment, visit Services Australia website.

Q: How can I estimate my childcare fees?

A: You can use our easy Childcare Subsidy Calculator to get an estimate of your out-of-pocket fees for our centre. Simply input your details, and the calculator will provide an indication of your potential subsidy and fees.
